Every once in a while I read something about judging on the rhymes and not the beats. Let me just say if I was Digga I wouldn’t pick no rapper that picks wack beats. That means that nigga has no ear, or sense of what’s hot or better yet even the skill to turn a wack beat into something decent what if the nigga don’t make you a beat but give you a choice out his archives and here you are feeling the weakest shit in his arsonal. Plus your not doing any good with it. So beat selection should count as points I’m just saying.
Here are my picks for each round.
Round 1: Ace DR- lyrically creative, original, and energetic.
Round 2: JP – this guy in my opinion is one of the best MC’s this competition. He had delivery, punchlines, rhymes, presence and a delivery.
Round 3: ALX – I pick jsnow the first time around but on a second listen I would give it to him. His entry only slightly edge out his competitor.
Round 4: Yser One – there were some real unpolished cats this round. But out of all the entries he had the best delivery and presence even tho he had some Real weak lines once in a while.
Round 5: Peso – entry was cool. Had some presence and a good beat choice def did his thing.
Honorable mentions: Carlos Ferragamo – your entry was so easy to ignore. Making any reference with yourself and Jay-Z is not cool. Then you didn’t pack that punch, maybe it’s because that sort of arrogance is look down upon so early. But interestingly your myspace page is full of dope music and you were unsigned hype 10/06. I think your fail was you didn’t put your best foot forward. But Kudos on shaking hands and kissing babies on these message boards or you would of been forgotten.
Mooka Jerz – The only female in this whole competition didn’t listen to your myspace page, I will. I read one of your peoples say you did that in fifteen minutes well it shows. You know that this rap game is male dominated and every female that stood out was phenominal in some way or another. All I’m saying is, next time you gotta blow the brains out. I hate to say this but don’t be nice for a girl just be nice.
Grizz and Crone – y’all had some shit I can ride to just get better recording equipment.
As for Chiyotola, B2 and Artisan y’all are dope as well. Even tho y’all didn’t have the best entries your round I would like to hear more.
